Our goal is to create less waste, consume less material, and use less energy. We understand that even the smallest steps to taking care of the environment make a big difference.
ECO-FRIENDLY IS OUR GOAL
We strive to be efficient by offering 10% off for refills in our store, 100% percent post-consumer paper for printed materials, and whenever possible recyclable and/or biodegradable plastics, paper, aluminum and corrugated cardboard for packaging.
We also have eco-friendly biodegradable formulations for our products and pack every outgoing shipment with recycled paper as the cushioning material. We even recycle our shipping boxes.
But we don't stop there. We strive to educate customers on natural ingredients, recycle all of our incoming waste, and reuse everyday materials for soap molds or organizing trays.
Even in the work space we stay natural by using all natural cleaners and cotton rags instead of paper towels, whenever possible. Plus, we rely on digital documents rather than leaving paper trails.
We all want to invest our time and money wisely while also looking and feeling our very best. Doesn’t it make sense to do so in a way that doesn’t harm us or our environment?
READING THE INGREDIENTS SHOULDN’T BE DIFFICULT
We choose to use 100% vegetable oils and essential oils, clays, shea butter, and natural exfoliants such as oatmeal and lentils. We carefully select botanicals and nutrients to nourish the skin without harsh ingredients.
Superfoods are nutritionally dense and full of antioxidants.
Because of this we choose to incorporate as many as we can into our products. Some common superfoods you’ll see are: grapeseed oil, green tea, honey, beet, & turmeric.
Can’t forget the vitamins! We strive to include vitamins such as E, C, A, B3 and D in nearly all of our products. Here’s why:
Vitamin E: antioxidant properties; reduces inflammation
Vitamin C: helps cell turnover; gives a glow
Vitamin A: prevents breakouts; hydrating
Vitamin B3: slows signs of aging skin
Vitamin D: helps dry skin and common skin problems
We also worked hard to avoid chemicals in our products. Here are a few we don’t like: Animal tallow, petroleum, sodium lauryl sulfate(SLS), fragrance oils and dyes.
ALLERGY & VEGAN INFO
PRODUCTS THAT CONTAIN NUT OIL:
Almond Oil: Lip scrub, bath fizzies, lip balm, stache wax, salt body scrub and body oil (We can custom make with sunflower, grapeseed, and apricot seed body oils. There is nut free oil made for the massage therapists as well.)
GLUTEN FREE PRODUCTS:
Sandalwood Lavender Soaps are the only products that contain oats. All other products are believed to be gluten free. If you have a question about a specific product, then please email us your questions.
Vitamin E is considered Vegan, Lactose Free, Gluten Free, Glutamate Free and BSE Free.
NON-VEGAN PRODUCTS:
Soaps: the Spirit soap bars have Lanolin in them which is an oil that comes from sheep wool, but all of the AP soaps are 100% vegan.
Skin care: Milk face wash and honey mask
Beeswax: Lip balms, Kiss Me Kit, lotion bars, beard balm and stache wax contain beeswax, and therefore are not vegan
VEGAN PRODUCTS:
Lotions, skincare apart from Milk face Wash and Honey mask and the Brown Sugar Lip Scrub are all vegan products
HELP YOUR SKIN CONDITION:
We recommend Sandalwood Lavender soap, African black soap, lavender or eczema lotion bar, lavender body scrub (if skin is not open and raw), and our natural laundry detergent.
